Texting and Smoking bans
Opponents of both argue that there's too much government regulation in our lives. However, the texting ban is just plain common sense, whether you like the new government regulation or not.
The smoking ban not quite as easy to defend. Yes, there's no arguing that smoking is dangerous to your health. But the debate over banning it in public places could go on indefinitely.
However, with both the texting and smoking ban, there's one point you pretty much can’t argue with — they're both the law.
Editorials usually take a stand — one way or another — on an issue. But sometimes — with complicated issues — it's not easy and even not right to pick a side. Editorials are meant to make you think; make you realize there are two, if not, more sides to an issue; and, in a theme that will be repeatedly expressed in this blog, the editorial is an "opinion." You can't argue with someone's opinion, only the facts that they may use to back it up.

I m not a smoker, but I am disgusted the Granholm would ban the smoking too, she has turned out to be a back stabber of the people, she is not much better then her predicessor, I guess she must be getting big insurance dollars to buy her out. I hear for hunters to hunt on state land she expects the hunters to take out a 150dollar insurance policy!!!??? What in the world is this next?! People do not realize how much they are surrendering their own freedoms by joining the band wagons against those smokers. I find it a joke that many establishments have bad ventilation that once was to help enforce non smokers, now people just get sick. Also all the asmahta caused by "smokers", we have more kids now then ever with it, and no one smokes!
